Recently retired, Wilson Mitchell completed a distinguished, 40 year career as an audit and advisory partner with the accounting firm, KPMG. Prior to 24 years in the New York office, he was an audit partner in the firm’s Kingston, Jamaica office and more recently was the joint managing partner of the firm’s Central Asia practice, based in Kazakhstan. After retirement from KPMG in 2008, Mr. Mitchell spent two years on a special project for the firm, WeiserMazars LLP. His experience includes providing audit, accounting and regulatory advice to public and privately held companies, in particular banks and other financial institutions. He also has extensive experience advising companies on complex matters pertaining to IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions and governance. Mr. Mitchell is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received a Master of Arts degree from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
Mr. Mitchell also currently serves on the board of directors, and is Chairman of the Audit Committee, of a community bank serving the Metropolitan New York area. Previously, he has served on the boards of British American Business Inc., the American Foundation of the University of St. Andrews and several other not for profit organizations.
